Although it's more rare, some of the aspen stands turn a brilliant, flaming orange. Among the otherwise stunning yellow aspen, and bright red sumac and underbrush against mountainous Colorado terrain (especially with the typical Autumn blue skies), I'll happily put Colorado foliage against the best of New England.
When I saw the title I was wondering if you went to Syracuse too.
ReplyDeleteFunny, today I was thinking about the western vs. eastern forests in the fall. First, the fall out here is amazing and we still have every color (except maybe that surreal sugar maple pink/orange). Second, I don't have to live my entire year in humidity in exchange for a few flashy deciduous trees in the fall. Well worth it!
