Lucky you, if you are!

Have you been to Mayflower Gulch? Very scenic, short approach, some bowls to play in above the cabin (but definitely be mindful of avalanche danger).
I also played around a bit last year on Mosquito Pass from Leadville and Mt. Evans B (peak to your right after you ascend Mosquito Pass from Leadville).

But also, like you, I've moved onto bigger skis with skins, but still trying to be safe when I go solo. Part of that has been skiing uphill in ski areas where it's allowed -- I made a short list here, and have had fun especially at Snowmass and Sunlight. Let me know what other places you've found to be good options, cheers!
mike_hinterberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02817872376341966540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593777137946937666.post-35842857666613963942012-12-30T05:57:04.005-08:002012-12-30T05:57:04.005-08:00Like you, I like to explore different ares on my s...Like you, I like to explore different ares on my skinny skies and try making some turns on the way down. Have skied Bemrose and several other XC trails in the area. This year have put together a AT setup and looking to find some mellow runs to descend. Any ideas would be welcome.

Xray359https://www.blogger.com/profile/08381811609734610644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593777137946937666.post-36762947371120818222010-11-18T15:52:59.699-08:002010-11-18T15:52:59.699-08:00Hi Steve, I think you dropped in once from John Ma...Hi Steve, I think you dropped in once from John Maas's blog. Then I read your blog, laughed, and added you (the standards here are low and arbitrary). But I do like to keep up on MN race stuff from time to time, we may end up back there someday. I'm also a Gopher, so we can certainly agree on hating Ohio State and Michigan!mike_hinterberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02817872376341966540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593777137946937666.post-3623457318408741922010-11-18T09:27:59.189-08:002010-11-18T09:27:59.189-08:00Not sure how I ended up on your blogroll, but than...Not sure how I ended up on your blogroll, but thanks! I've been a Gopher and a Boilermaker, so the Badgers beating the Hoosiers is... umm... a mixed blessing. He does a lot of 14ers, including winter (although that may be tempered this year given the recent birth of the V family twin daughters).GZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12623054918799881730noreply@blogger.com
