Try not to sit down at aid stations, "beware the chair" -- eat early and often, you surely saw that at Leadville, some things taste better than others, and you have to force yourself at times to take something in every 30-45 minutes. While pacing, I think you understood all of this, since you had options for food and kept reminding me.

Most importantly, enjoy every minute of it! It's never quite the same as the first! (Or something)!mike_hinterberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02817872376341966540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593777137946937666.post-40866437829253893152011-11-01T09:55:26.350-07:002011-11-01T09:55:26.350-07:00Thanks, GZ. I ...Kieran - all the best in your first attempt.

I find these conversations to be a much better church and community than one where I sit in a pew.GZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12623054918799881730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593777137946937666.post-15333136103831329692011-10-31T12:34:28.876-07:002011-10-31T12:34:28.876-07:00Yeah, it's a little easier to run for Knox or ...Yeah, it's a little easier to run for Knox or Carroll than for one of the real powerhouses. Even my high school teammates who ran DII were soon blowing my doors off when I was running at Knox. Never mind the ones who ran DI.

Yup, got my first 100 attempt this Saturday. I'm happy with my prep in general, but it's my first 100, so who the heck knows. My plan is to start slow, walk a lot early, and hope keep a pretty consistent pace. Be in the moment and enjoy each moment, even if it hurts a little:)

Any advice for the newbie?

How's your training going? And based on their XC success, you could easily guess I did *not* run for them! =) Did you run at Knox?
Also, I recall rumor of a 100M for you right around now (or imminently, from GZ's blog)...? How was/is that, and where was it?mike_hinterberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02817872376341966540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593777137946937666.post-79647245038794666882011-10-31T11:14:14.452-07:002011-10-31T11:14:14.452-07:00You went to Carroll?
